    Exam dates and Grading Scheme

    Exam Dates

    Bi-Weekly Quizzes: 20-30 minutes, every second Friday
    • Each quiz examines material studied in the previous two week's classes, unless otherwise announced
    • First quiz May 24
    • Last quiz Aug 2
    Final: Thursday, August 15, 2012, 3:30 - 6:30 PM

    Grading Scheme

    Assignments: 35%
    • Five assignments
    • On each assignment selected problems and / or selected parts of problems will be graded
    • Solutions to most problems will be provided
    • Each assignment is worth 7% of your final grade
    Weekly Quizzes: 25%
    • All six quizzes will be graded
    • Best five quiz grades will be included in your final grade
    • Solutions will be provided for all quizzes
    Final: 40%
    If you do better on the final exam than your average grade for quizzes you will recieve 52.5% for final and 12.5% for quizzes
    In order to obtain a clear pass (C- or better) your combined score on the Quizzes and the Final exam must exceed 50% (32.5/65).
