Description:

This course provides an overview of a number of research areas in human-computer interaction (HCI). Students who complete the course will have sufficient background in HCI to take advanced topics courses or begin research projects at the master's or doctoral levels.

The course is designed so that students without a formal background in computer science can participate. In the past, there has been a good mix of backgrounds, which has contributed to the multidisciplinary nature of the course. Students from Architecture, Commerce, Computer Science, Communications, Education, Engineering, Kinesiology, Psychology and other disciplines related to human-computer interaction are especially encouraged to register for this course.
