It is possible to connect to the machines in the CSIL lab over the Internet. How hard it is depends on the kind of access you need and the operating system you're using on the machine you're connecting from.
Instructions are provided for the followig types of access:
- Transferring files. If all you need to do is transfer files from CSIL to or from your machine, you can follow these instructions.
- Text-only. If you can connect to a terminal window and don't need to run graphical programs (things that open up in their own window), you can follow these steps.
- Graphical/Windowing. If you need to run X-Windows GUI programs, you need to follow these steps.
